Agriculture and Agri-Industry FacilitiesCrop ProductionMajor crops by area of crop harvested in hectares include corn, coconut, variety of vegetables, root crops, fruit trees and rice with a total of 5837.9 hectares or 28.13% to total land area during the last two years (2021-2022). Among these major crops, biggest area is devoted to corn with 51.14% (2985.3 has.), area devoted to coconut accounted for 30.98% (1808.65 has.), vegetables, fruit trees and rice share each (517.23, 196.7 and 174.59 hectares respectively) while root crops account 2.66% (155.44 has.)Livestock and PoultryLivestock production is limited to backyard and small-scale-raising with hogs predominating 58.87% of total livestock population in the year 2022, goat and cattle contribute 24.23% and 11.02% each respectively during the same period with more or less 12,503 heads to total inventory. Production of carabao is the least noted number in the year 2022 with 5.89% contribution in the municipal inventory. Chicken makesup 100% to total poultry population with a few number heads of other kinds of poultry raised.Fishery and AquacultureThe municipality of Argao has ten (10) coastal barangays extending a distance of 18 kilometers long shoreline which stretches from the boundaries of Sibonga and Dalaguete and an average depth of 29 kilometers from the coast to the interior boundaries on the western portion of the municipality.Mainly, the supply of fishery products for consumption comes from the fishing capture areas in the locale and its neighboring municipalities. The municipal’s minimal produce of fishery and other aquatic products are sourced through sustenance fishing that include common species like bangus (milkfish) and tilapia
